Dr. Josef G. Boeck

Born in 1957, he studied English and History in Augsburg and Swansea, Wales. After graduating, he worked as an assistant at the Chair of American Studies, with a research stay in Berkeley, California, and at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, California.

After completing his doctorate, he moved into the IT industry in 1987, joining Singhammer Datentechnik, then a medium-sized system integrator in Munich. In 1994, he acquired shares in the company and took over management of services and finance. In 1997, he founded Singhammer IT Consulting as part of a management buy-out, which he led as CEO until the end of 2015. By the time he left, Singhammer had become the market leader in operational information systems for IT companies. He has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Singhammer since 1 January 2016. He is still the major shareholder of the company.

From 2007 to 2012, Dr Böck was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian public limited company Graphisoft SE, and since 2014 he has been a member of the board and shareholder of Strong Elements SL, the owner of the www.lawyerpress.com brand.

In July 2015, he founded The Human Side of Business, for which he began working actively on 1 January 2016 to realise his idea of a Think Tank for entrepreneurs.

Josef G. Böck has been an honorary commercial judge at the Munich 1 Regional Court since 2003 and a lecturer at Munich University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Mathematics since 2012. There he teaches business information systems and knowledge management in lectures and seminars.

In addition to his work in the Think Tank, Josef G. Böck serves on several supervisory and administrative boards of IT companies in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. He supports colleagues in succession and organisational development processes. He is a member of the management board of the Nemetschek Innovation Foundation, where he works on its strategic development.

The Nemetschek Innovation Foundation is a non-profit organisation. It supports academic research in the field of artificial intelligence in construction. The foundation is currently working with the Technical University of Munich, Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Centre for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) in Stanford.
